Veranstaltung in nächster Zeit - Alumni Talks, Master These, LSF
With the first Alumni Talk of 2026, the European Studies programme has successfully launched its new event series. We would like to sincerely thank Sarah Schmitt, alumna of the Master’s programme in European Studies, for the open, insightful, and inspiring discussion. She shared valuable perspectives on her academic and professional journey – from studying European Studies and gaining international experience in Brussels to her current work as a Research Associate and PhD candidate in a research project at OVGU. The lively exchange offered a particularly helpful orientation for students interested in research, academia, and research-related career paths.
In the coming weeks and months, students will have numerous opportunities to engage with alumni of the programme and explore diverse professional trajectories. As part of the Alumni Talk series, the following events are scheduled:
On 28 January 2026 at 6:00 pm, Diana Radoi will join us, a Blue Book Trainee of the European Commission.
On 24 February 2026 at 5:00 pm, Lys Ziebell, Gender Consultant and CEO of “Wir sehen hin e. V.”, will share insights into her professional work.
On 3 March 2026 at 5:00 pm, Bernarda Scharf, Trainee at the European Parliament under MEP Lukas Sieper, will be our guest.
A further Alumni Talk with Felix Mihalek, PR Manager at the Falling Walls Foundation, is planned for March 2026 (date to be announced).
In addition to the Alumni Talks, a Master’s Thesis Workshop entitled “How to write a MA thesis” will be offered on 9 April 2026 at 9:15 am at the University Library. The workshop will provide practical guidance on planning and structuring the thesis, organisation and layout, as well as questions related to Word and citation software. It will last approximately 1.5 hours and combine structured input with interactive discussion.
Furthermore, an online information session on how to use LSF and course selection for the Summer Semester 2026 will take place on March 5, 2026, at 9:15 am. LSF course listings for the Summer Semester are expected to become available in late February or early March.
Registration for all events is possible via email at eus-hilfskraefte@ovgu.de.
We look forward to welcoming many participants and to continuing the lively exchange!
