EUROPEAN STUDIES

This page is destined to all those who are about to start the Bachelor Programme in European Studies at the Otto-von-Guericke University, in Magdeburg. For a successful start in your studies, we invite you to our orientation offers in the winter semester 2023/24:

• Welcome week from 4 October 2023 to 6 October 2023 with information and welcome events (the programme will be published on our website).
• Math Preparation Course from 25 September to 29 September 2023 to refresh your knowledge of mathematics
• Registration for language courses from 2 October 2023 as part of our EUS Bachelor programme.

Preparation Courses in Maths

We recommend that you brush up on your knowledge in Maths before starting your studies by taking part in the preliminary courses offered by the OVGU (via the Faculty of Mathematics):

Aufbaukurs: Fit für Finanzmathematik und Statistik (for german-speaking students)

Math Preparation Course in English for Bachelor Students in IBE or EuS (for english speaking students)

Registration for language courses

As part of the Bachelor's degree programme in European Studies, you will take language courses in which you will do exams for a total of two levels of language learning - either in one or two languages. It is possible to choose the language courses you want to take before the semester starts (more below). To register for a language course, please go to this page: https://sprachenzentrum.ovgu.de/

From the range of certified language courses at the SPRZ (English, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian), two language levels according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) can be chosen in one language or in two different languages. Consider your options and decide accordingly for two levels in one language or for two languages.

The registration for language courses takes only a few minutes of your time: login with your username and password (given to you after your enrolment at OvGU) and register!
