Save the date! May 24th in Magdeburg - Tresen-Talk - Ukraine, Russland, EU

On May 24th the Tresen Talk will take place in Magdeburg, which will look at different perspectives on Ukraine, Russia and the EU.

Why is Russia attacking Ukraine? How is the EU reacting? What parallels can be drawn with the war in Syria, Chechnya and Georgia? Where is the EU heading? What do we have to prepare for in the future? How will the EU and its institutions react to the further course of the war? Can conclusions about the future be drawn from history?

These are all questions for the talk on current affairs. Each speaker brings a different set of experience and expertise to this event. Our very own Professor Dr. Heidbreder, head of the European Studies programme at OvGU, as an EU expert will be sharing her expertise. Professor Dr Goes, Russia expert, Slavicist and Chair of the German Dostoevsky Society will provide a cultural and historical perspective. In addition, Mr. Rainer Robra, Minister for Europe in Saxony-Anhalt since 2002, brings the perspective of an experienced and successful politician to this Tresen Talk.

The Tresen Talk is supported by the State Chancellery and the Ministry of Culture of Saxony-Anhalt and the presence of people from Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt and beyond is very welcome!
