International exchanges are at the heart of European Studies at the University of Magdeburg. Our students are exposed to diverse perspectives from the very first semester, given the international student body of European Studies. This allows for a constant exchange of ideas and to discover the political, economic and cultural diversity of Europe.
Exchange programmes with our partner universities and study trips are also an important aspect of European Studies here in Magdeburg. As a student you will have many options to spend an exchange semester in places from Porto to Saint Petersburg and from Ankara to Karlstad. If you are studying at one of our partner universities you can decide to spend your Erasmus semester here. We take particular pride in the relationships that we have built with universities in Eastern Europe, but the entire world is open to our students through our European Studies partnerships and those of the university’s community at large.
International mobility is a cornerstone of our Bachelor’s programme in European Studies, with our students spending their 5th semester abroad.
Master’s students also have a choice to make use of the opportunity for an exchange semester at one of our partner universities. This can easily be integrated into the regular programme of studies if taken during the third semester.
The international mobility of our students can be supported through a wide range of full and partial scholarships as part of the Earsmus+ or DAAD programmes. This allows our students to spend time abroad independently of their personal wealth or background.
