EUROPEAN STUDIES

Alba María Kugelmeier López has been working as a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the Chair of Governance in the European Multilevel System at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg since October 2021. Her research revolves around feminist theories and gender equality policies, with a distinct focus on the Von der Leyen Commission. Presently, Alba's dissertation delves into the examination of the 'Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025' and the implementation of gender mainstreaming within the European Union.

Prior to her engagement at Otto von Guericke University, Alba worked as a research assistant at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. She holds a Master of Social Science in Leadership for Change: European and Global Politics from Tampere University, and she earned her BA degree in Sociology and Political Science from Goethe University.

She is accepting master's and bachelor's students' thesis proposals.
