International - Ukraine: Discussion with Ukrainian students / Guest lectures
This semester, our students have already had two opportunities to interact with Ukrainians in a university setting:
Dr. phil. Tatjana Samostyan organized together with Prof. Dr. habil. Tetiana Krysanova of the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University (Luzk, Ukraine) an online discussion round between students of their respective seminars. This allowed them to exchange views on the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine and the resulting consequences in a safe environment: Among other things, the students discussed Germany's national assistance to Ukraine, the relationship with Russia in the two countries, and individual aid measures provided by Ukrainian students themselves for internally displaced persons and for the army.
Another opportunity for international exchange was provided for the students by the guest lectures on "Gender Theories - Social Constructivist and Postmodern Perspectives" and "Constructing Gender in Visual Culture" given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tamara Martsenyuk of theNational University of „Kyiv-Mohyla Academy“ (Kyiv, Ukraine). The lectures, followed by discussion sessions, were moderated by Dr. phil. Tatjana Samostyan as a part of the project IMUDE (Jean Monnet Chair) accompanying the master seminar Kerndiskurse und Theorien der Kulturwissenschaften and were open to all interested parties.
We are pleased to announce that both Prof. Dr. habil. Tetiana Krysanova as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tamara Martsenyuk will offer further guest lectures to our students in the coming weeks. More information will follow soon in our news.
